Life lessons I learned in Spin Class...



>F*ck the fat lady singing...The song ain't over until the room is quiet...and then sometimes it's still not over so keep going.

>When you feel like you can't push anymore, push a little harder. Don't stop moving.
>Stay focused and breathe...BREATHE...B R E A T H E!!!
Just some lessons to take with you along the road of life...
This class has done more for me than I ever imagined and I love every minute of it!

It Finally Happened!!!


I can't believe I am finally saying this but yes, HE POPPED THE QUESTION and I said YES!!! So i am officially engaged to my one and only and I couldn't be happier! I feel like I am the luckiest girl in the world to have him and he is just my everything...


So needless to say, "the planning begins!!!" (cue scary music)...and I honestly have no idea how it is going to go, but I just hope and pray that everything goes smoothly (or as smoothly as possibe)

Weight Loss & Me!

So like many women, I struggle with my weight. I wouldn't say that I am chunky but as the bathroom attendant at the Manayunk Brewery told me, I'm "fleshy"...which is basically saying that I'm about a cupcake away from being on the chunky side...not cool. My main Achilles heel is staying motivated long enough t continue with my program so I've decided to make a list of all the reasons that i want to lose weight...kinda like a reference when I'm feeling lazy or are about to open that bag of salty delicious lays. So, here it goes...

1. Because I want to look back at my high school pics and not be jealous of my self a how much thinner I was.

2. Because I genuinely want to be healthier

3. Because I want to be more confident/comfortable in the clothes I wear...and the ones I don't ;)
4. Because I wan to feel better

5. Because I want to look good at any angle.

6. Because my boyfriend would love it (although he loves me regardless) :-*

7. And most importantly because I WANT TO DO IT!!!!...not because someone it making me. This is something that I want to accomplish to make ME feel better...everyone else come 2nd...

More Baby Steps...

So last night I decided to try out a new workout. I did the Kim Kardashian "Fit into you jeans by Friday" OnDemand videos. And let me tell you how fantastic they are!!! Aside from the fact that my favorite fitness instructor, Jennifer Galardi(she is amazing!), is her trainer in the videos, they are super easy to keep up with...well not super easy...but it makes to want to push yourself! I think I'll try it out for a couple of days just to see what happens...of course I'm not giving up on the Jillian Michaels "30 Day Shred" (another fantastically amazing DVD), but i think I'll rotate the 2 for a little while and wait and see what results I am able to see...the key word here is wait...you know I hate waiting...

Life's New Ventures

So it's not really a venture just more of a small step towards bettering my health. For years I have struggle with my weight and body image and I've come to the conclusion that I just need to get up and DO IT!!! Just do it!!! This is honestly that is the hardest part for me but I found that once I jump that hurdle the rest is smooth sailing and the feeling of euphoria I get after a really good workout can't compare to any other emotion I can think of. It's the feeling of being accomplished and knowing that I'm only one step closer to my final goal...almost like I can't fail...No, I WON'T FAIL!

I've started to drink ginger tea on more of a regular basis. I heard it is suppose to be very beneficial to your body...gastrointestinally (is that a word? I hope so)....but you get what I mean. Although I can't tell how it's been effecting the end process of the food process, I can say that it has kept my stomach settled during the day whereas I though I was prone to stomach aches from indigestion...especially after eating something i knew I shouldn't have been withing 50 ft of. So this is a bonus!

Some other steps I've taken are to just walk more...I have a desk job so this is where things get a little complicated. It's almost like for every step I take towards better health, the lack of activity during the day takes me 2 steps back...So what does this mean????? This means I take the stairs, stay away from the food tables (as best I can) which tend to pop up randomly and without any notice, make more trips to the fax machine, park farther away, and even do mini leg workouts under my desk for the length of the phone calls which are all too frequent. But it doesn't stop there...If I have the energy by the end of the day...WHEW!!! IF I have the energy when I return to my humble abode, I need to do 30 minutes or so of real exercise.

exhausting(mentally)...but necessary...

I think, I mean I KNOW the other hurdle I have to overcome is the lack of instant results. I like instant EVERYTHING! I wish I could teleport so I wouldn't have to sit on a plane for hours to get places...this is serious...I think once I am able to fully wrap my mind around this concept I think I should be set to go...
